We are in a very difficult time in our history. We are confronted with a crossroad: fight for America and the rest of the free world or succumb to Islam and any other thugs that may show their ugly faces. I realize this sounds too black and white for many; however, the path we choose will directly affect our future and our way of life.
Throughout the history of man, there have been conflicts for many reasons. The main reasons being territory and power. Empires grew as a result of victory over its adversaries. Religion has spread by the same means. Islam, for example, spread in this way. The foundation of Islam is to convert or conquer; and we are at odds with aggressive Islamism that follows this same belief. It's hard for civilized people to understand this thinking, but we are dealing with uncivilized people that are stuck in the eighth century. They are also capable of, and very willing to, kill any non-Muslim, any homosexual, any free thinking individual, any person that enjoys freedom, and any "westerner." These people cannot be reasoned with. They will take any type of negotiation as a sign of weakness and will step up the attack.
This leads us to the Democrats. We have a simple vote: war funding. This simple vote has become a political circus. These anti-American, seditious, obstructive, self-absorbed, pacifying members of Congress are risking our safety and future for political gain. To add clauses, such as, a timetable for troops withdrawal in the war funding bill, is very dangerous. First of all, they do not have the authority to direct the troops (remember Commander in Chief); second, it gives aid and comfort to our enemies. To top it all off, the pathetic Democrats have sunk so low as to attempt to add a minimum wage increase and small business tax relief to the war funding bill. What do these items have to do with the war on terror and our survival? This is politics, plan and simple. I have a prediction: The Democrats are going to lose BIG in 2008. It's not because the Republicans are much better, but they are not as willing to risk our safety, the safety of our troops, and our future for political gain.
